If you saw my post a couple of weeks ago (which I've since deleted), I apologise that I didn't upload. I have been wrapped up with a trilogy book I am writing and every spare minute I get, I spend on it. My deadline is fast approaching and the panic is slowly setting in.
However, amidst the craziness of my life, somewhere between college runs, food shopping and homemaking, I have managed to do draft a post that I've scheduled for this coming weekend. It's a collection of autumn slow cooker meals, batch cooking and some homemade granola balls.
For now, I'd like the thank Frankie and Mary for sharing this blog, once I get it set up as part of my routine (I have set work hours because I work from home) there will be some fun and useful stuff that I'll share.
If you aren't following my Facebook page, what are you waiting for? Hop on over and give it a cheeky like! All my blog posts will be shared over there and I plan to share lots of other things that may not make it into this blog. Who knows?!!
This not so little human is my youngest son, Charley. I have been asked to share an update on him (and the others, so with his permission, here goes.
He officially left school in June of this year. He's now in college studying film and media and he totally loves it. He's so independent, honourable, trustworthy and loyal I often wonder how I got so blessed to have him for my son.
He has been with his girlfriend for over a year now, they are the perfect match. He is now 17 and beginning to drive. He loves photography, gaming, his family and our dog, Jake. He's very much a homebody and a family oriented guy and his sense of humour is out of this world.
He loves to cook, experiment with different foods, spices and combinations. To be truthful, he does 99% of the cooking. He has plans to continue on to university and still considering joining the Royal Marines once he's got a secondary career option under his belt. He's very academic, sensitive but not touchy and he's definitely my protector.
The only thing that really irritates me with him is he collects crockery in his room. Not on a shelf or display, heck they're not even matching. No, he's a pain for not bringing his washing up down! Well if that's the worst I get then I know I am extremely lucky.
As for my other children, Jaymie, now 32, is happily settled with 5 girls, he is the most amazing, hands-on dad that I've ever seen. His partner, Sharon is a good friend of mine and they both make truly wonderful parents. Bailey is 11, Lillie-Mai is 9, Grace is almost 6, Hollie is 31/2 and Ivey is almost 2, each one of them is individual, happy, confident and love to be with each other. When they come to see me, I love to focus on them, these little humans are just amazing and fun to be with. I absolutely love them to bits.
Scott is now 31, he works for a private company rehoming special children who have various problems. He loves to play games online with Charley, he too is a family guy and is currently looking for his own place but is undecided between buying and renting.
Kirsten is married to a truly mad, insane, fun and amazing guy, Dane. They have three boys and as Dane is in the RAF, Kirsten is no longer living close to me but we make it work. My oldest grandson, Jensen (almost 6) is definitely Nana's boy and calls me every afternoon after school and most mornings before. Holden, 3 is the cutest, cheekiest, funniest blond-haired, blue-eyed kid I've ever seen. Then the baby, Greyson, 17 months, is a funny, ever-so-loving and calm kid on the block. I'm truly blessed to have these grandchildren.
As for me, I am collecting health conditions! I have 10 so far, two were dealt with by medication so I could cross them off, but the others, unfortunately, will always be part of me and my daily life. That said, none of them stop me, they just slow me down and force me to rethink how I do things. I'm extremely grateful that none of them is life-threatening so every day I wake up and feel overwhelmingly thankful to be alive.
I don't have permission to share any pictures of my older kids and their families but if/when I do, I will add a few in my gallery.
What I do have is quite a collection of tried and tested (by me only) meal prep ideas, homemade healthy snacks and plenty of diy's, crafts and recommended books to read. All of these will be added in the next couple of weeks now that I have them in my daily planner!
Thanks for getting this far :) I hope you are having a good day and I'll see you on the next post.
