The British Homemaker - One day at a time

I'm always grateful that my kids will help around the house, not only their usual 3 tasks per day but anything I need doing, within reason. Since my arthritis diagnosis I've been less able to maintain the home to the standard I like so we've become more of a team than ever before. With Charley being 9 now he's not past the visual glory of reward charts and chores lists so when I saw this project yesterday I loved it. I knew Charley and Kirsten would too for a couple of reasons. I wonder if other parents make the same mistake I do... The British Homemaker is undergoing a bit of a change. It's long over due and all rather exciting. The first change is the new team member, Jenny who will begin to bring posts here, tutorials, tips and hints on a range of homemaking things so I hope you are a kind to her and welcome her warmly. Late is my middle name but better late than never, right? ;) I trust you've had a great start to 2014? Here, we've been doing a few adjustments to our personal lives and getting clear on how we want this year to happen. This time last year I just had a dodgy knee, now I'm safe to say I've come to terms with osteo and rheumatoid arthritis and adapted to life as much as I can for now. My younger two kids are great supports when I need them, I have great friends and a great family so it'd be selfish of me to not work in something else that's been a huge part of my life that I've let slip; my faith. This year, health permitting I am regaining what I know I have inside, faith, hope, compassion, a future. While my business is in the midst of expanding at the moment I am finding that the input from my kids is adding value to the part it plays in our lives, we are all excited for what's coming to Design my Party Uk in the next few months!
