Era’s are emotional!

Image
This year is the end of 2 era’s in my life, both concerning my kids. It’s also the end of my Scott’s 3 years at university...and I don’t mind saying it’s all very emotional for me. Kirsten left school the day after she turned 16 (June) and is now eagerly awaiting September to move onto college. She is so fired up about it, having chosen her subjects, seen how it will take her into the career she so badly wants (midwife) and how she will no longer have to deal with subjects that bore her senseless (science and P.E). I’m not sure how we got to this point, it was only 5 mintues ago I was attending her primary school leaving assembly, again wondering how we’d gotten to that point too! After how the last year has been for her, I stand all amazed at how she has not only gained momentum on life itself but leapt so far forward with her education that even her tutors didn’t want her to leave! Proud mommy here. ...

Free Party in a Box!

Image
Party in a Box is still not a launched business...but that isn’t stopping any orders coming through or demonstration bookings, in fact, the bookings are priceless in tweaking the details of how best to take this innovative idea forward to create something that all moms (and dads) can take on board with less outlay, less worry, less stress and more assurances that they are getting a better-than-great deal. One of the things I’ve been working on is building a local team of people to network with to bring a wide range of special offers, deals and giveaways to my customers which, again will make their party shopping less stressful, more creative and still supporting local/small businesses. One of the ‘team’ gave me a challenge last week. She was horrified when I said I didn’t have a Facebook page yet, even though I’d started putting it together I hadn’t ac...

Party in a Box

Image
My absence has been rather exciting, time consuming and full of ups and downs. I have almost got to the point where I can officially launch my new venture...even though it has already started trading...by accident! Party in a Box has been a growing idea that has not been without trial and error, yet each time I turn around I have more interest, followed by demonstration bookings and pre-orders. I guess it was just meant to be! The worst part was securing the business in the legal sense, the biggest headache was deciding what stationery theme I wanted, I am just too indecisive! :) So, if you want to pop on over to my new Facebook page, like it and share it with your friends and family I will love you forever and I will like, share yo...

It’s been a while...

My last post saw me at a crossroads with the new life I had quite suddenly found myself in the middle of and not sure what to do with myself or which way to go. So I done the only thing I really know how to do...took time out. During that time out I had an offer to move to Australia, along with a job, home and sponsorship. Kirsten and Charley, like me, were quite excited about the new lifestyle, opportunities and the outdoor living the offer held. We researched, prayed and talked about it a lot. But along the way I realised I didn’t quite feel like I was able to do this kind of move or any kind of move again. Last  years events have really taken its toll on me and the security of living in this house pretty much has me nailed. I think my channel hopping days are over and I feel rather good about that. Through all of this I also had the offer to write for a craft blog and offer any creations I have that would suit their readers, the lady who made the offer was actually ...

Question…

Image
I’ve been pondering some different things this week, seems my brain has a process it insists on me being present with. So, even though I’m not going to splurge my thinking yet {because it’d probably make me sound wacko right now!} I thought I’d put some questions out there and see what others think… 1. Have you ever had to relocate and start from the very beginning in a brand new area? By that I mean, rebuild a home, work/business, friends, schools, life…the whole works? 2. What was the hardest thing you found to rebuild? 3. Are you a get up and do it kind of  person or a ponder it then decide cautiously person? 4. When your mojo has got up and gone, how do you reclaim it? What tricks do you use? I guess these are some of the things I’m obviously pondering and to a degree struggling with, but I know it will all sort itself out and settle down but as I insist on my humanness I know I have to work throu...

Handmade Pinwheel

Image
When I saw this pinwheel tutorial on Miss Mustard Seeds blog I about skipped for joy! Not only because I could play with them for hours {don’t judge!} but I remember the Dick and Jane books {as well as Janet and John!} and I loved the idea. Guess what we’ll be doing this weekend? Oh, don’t forget to go check out the full tutorial!
