Truly. To be able to recognize what nee...Brilliant. Truly. To be able to recognize what needs to be done and then to have the fortitude to actually carry it out. Kudos to you. I find myself on days that I could be spending time with my husband worrying about the laundry or the state of my house. but all of that can wait. I'll fee so much happier if I just let it go for a bit, and have fun with him. We get so busy so often that we forget to do that. We really have fun together and enjoy each other's company. And I completely agree about all the material things. it's just stuff and it doesn't define who we are. I've seen a plaque that says 100 years from now, no one will care what I owned, or wore' etc. along those lines, it just doesnt' matter. My children are part of the 'I wanna' culture. they see it advertised or at their friends houses and think they need it. We always remind them, when they are whining b/c they don't have xyz, how fortunate we are that we have a roof overhead, food in the pantry and good schools to go to because there are so many who don't have those things right here in our town, let alone in Africa. When i was growing up, it was always, 'there are children starving in Africa/China/where ever' but now we have it here in our own city. if we have the things we need, that should be enough to make us happy, and it does. I'm like you, I don't need the latest fashion/handbags/trips. I"m not ashamed to say i shop at thrift stores, not because I have to, but because I like to, I like to get a good deal, it makes me happy, it's like a treasure hunt.

I hope you enjoy your time off and get yourself rested and refreshed and spend some time with that baby girl. check in with me when you can, i've got several new recipes to post with pictures! I hope to get them up this weekend.1domesticgoddesshttp://www.1domesticgoddess.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
